Back To Motorycles...

I ran across a buddy of mine's brother-in-law who just happened to have a couple of sets of these for sale. The green ones are for the CFL...the gold ones are just to keep.

Alright, enough grabassin'...

Mid-USA makes this lever-action starter solenoid for 65-84 e-start bikes. Since I needed to replace my solenoid, I thought I'd give this thing a shot.

I didn't receive any sort of instructions, didn't realize that you needed to mount another relay, and when I called Mid-USA to get their instruction sheet the bitch who answered the phone acted like I was putting them out...and after all of that, the piece of shit didn't work.

I won't ever buy anything from Mid-USA again.

This is Bral from the JJ's bike, by the way.

It's no fun without you.

Jay Z Agrees With Me...

Auto-Tune distorted vocals on ANYTHING sounds like overproduced, effortless trash.

Red...

From the same era as the '48, here is my '91 V6 5 speed Yota pickup. This thing ran like a top and made it through whatever I threw at it. It was the predecessor to my first rockcrawler.

Dad's '48...

I asked my dad to send me some pics of his old '48 that he had when I was in high school/early college. Oh the days of billet.

He came through:

RIP Michael Jackson...

No matter how much of a pedophile he was, there are a lot of people that will miss him.

Either way though, I was searching for something to post about his death and found a site in which people were polling on his death date. The fact that these people took the time out of their day to have THIS conversation cracked me up.

Next Spring...

I think I might buy one of these:

S.B.D.B.

Every time I make the mistake of venturing out to bike night, it never fails that I see plenty of "hardcore bros" in Sick Boy t-shirts. Nothing says badass like a sleeveless Sick Boy t-shirt, Harley jeans, and a leather doo rag.

Let's compare.

Maylene & The Sons of Disaster...

New album (III) came out yesterday. A little Southern Metal fo ya.

While I'm at it with making things disappear...

How about DNA Springers? Why won't those disappear? Enough folks have broken and bent them, but people still buy them...and folks wonder what's wrong with our economy...THEY'RE BUYING CHINESE MADE CRAP!

If you can't shell out the chedda for a real springer, then go with a hydraulic front end.

Nothing is worse than seeing a well-executed build with a DNA springer on the front...it looks like a cheap afterthought.

Test fitting...

I'll have this damn thing done at some point.

New/old helmet...

An old Shoei...getting ready to send it off to be relined. It was cheap, so I thought...why the hell not?

The Hate Factory...

Shane hooked me up with some parts I needed, as well as some stickers, a rag, and a Daniel Johnston t-shirt with one sleeve ripped off.

The Hate Factory is linked down to the right.

Daniel Johnston has a story that's hard to believe. If you have a minute, look him up. If you have more time than that, then rent The Devil and Daniel Johnston.

Thanks Shane.

I hate electrical...

My starter solenoid took a dump yesterday. After sitting in 95 degree heat trying to trace back what was bad in my wiring harness, I found a bad wire and a broken solenoid. That sucks. Oh well, while I'm waiting on a new one, I started thinking about paint on bikes. I reverted back to my childhood and began thinking about TV shows I liked. The Dukes of Hazzard was a great show, but that paint is played out. No one every gives much credit to these two paintjobs though:

Longbed C10...

I'd like to have an '80 model. I found this picture and it cracked me up because it looked like that picture of bigfoot from like 40 years ago.

Pulled the plug...

Well two of the four on the stroker and the two out of the CFL motor to be precise. The two out of the stroker are black as night...it needs to be tuned a bit better. The ones from the CFL motor look great, which really doesn't matter since I'm doing a top end job on that motor anyway.

Garage Bar...

I don't know if I've posted this before, but who cares. Here's where I get my beers. In the fridge, there are a variety of beers and the kegerator stays stocked with a half barrel of Sweetwater 420.

Friday...

Is my birthday and I've decided to celebrate at the Brick Store Pub in Decatur. This place has so many good Belgian beers that you could be tanked 100 times before trying them all. I'll take pics while I'm there.

Some of my collection:

Killswitch Engage...

Even though Incubus sucks now, KSE does not. Their new album comes out June 30th.

R.I.P. Incubus...

Back in college, some friends of mine and I ran across a band that was about to gain serious popularity. The Family Values CD had just been released and there was a band called Incubus that had a funky metallic groove. Albums like S.C.I.E.N.C.E. stayed in the whips for a while and we would see the band every time they came to town.

A few years back, Dirk Lance (bassist) left the band and they released A Crow Left of the Murder. They had already softened up a little on Morning View, but still had a good, funky groove. This album was way off though and started the demise of the sound that we'd grown to enjoy. I still gave the band a listen when they released an album, but never really got into it. We even went to see them a couple of times and were flat out dissapointed in the surf hippy, The Hills type shit that they were putting out.

Today they released another album, and even though I rarely listen to even the old stuff, I found myself previewing it on iTunes. I was not a bit surprised to find that it was sappy love songs and lacked any signs of the funky beats that had drawn us to them in the first place.

Goodbye Incubus.

Ride to Work...

I did...and was almost late. Popped, sputtered and died at about 70mph, but then after coasting down the shoulder of the interstate for about a quarter mile, it fired right back up and gave me the next 10 miles trouble free. I'll pull the plugs tonight and see if it's running too rich.

I'm back...

So I've gotta get down to bidness. I'm looking for a couple of things if anyone has them.

1) OEM 3.5 gallon tanks. I'm looking for something that's clean and will bolt up to a 4 speed swingarm frame.

2) OEM 16x3 rim. As long as it's true, condition doesn't matter...it'll get powdercoated anyway.

3) OEM 2" risers.

Reply here or shoot me an email with anything you've got.

Alabama Thunderpussy...

Can't think of an album of their's that I don't like.

Vacation...

Time to take a little vacation...going to the beach. I won't be posting much...

June 15th...

For those that don't already do it, dust off your bike and actually use it as transportation instead of a conversation piece.

Peace out, Grasshoppa...

Jake turned one on Monday...

I had an extra Church sticker, so I slapped it on his new ride. He didn't mind.

Fab Kevin...

Nice as hell guy who makes some quality stuff, even if it sounds like he's an 80's rapper.

This is to replace the mushy banana caliper on the back of the Wide Glide.

Stroker Motor=Gas Guzzler

Thank God I took the way I did this morning because I milked out my reserve with enough momentum to coast into a Shell station. Filled her up, fired her up, and rode my sweaty ass to work.

Damn Coloradonians...

Finally sent us Fat Tire and the other New Belgium beers. On May 19th, they arrived for the first time in the state. Now I need about a month to say, "Okay, back to 420."

Crazy Frank's...

I don't remember where I stole this pic from, but this bike it neat-o:
