Lakewood Speedway...

I was doing a little reading about Lakewood Speedway. It was a hot spot for racing back the early 20th Century here in Atlanta. Every kind of race was held there and it was once dubbed "Indianapolis of the South."

It's now covered up partially by the parking lot and ticket gates to Lakewood Amphitheater and the main stretches have been turned into access roads. The grandstands are still there, rotting into the Earth.

I hate seeing cool stuff disappear so that we can have shit that we don't really need.
