Parents just don't understand...
Not to take away from Eric's post about Fred (R.I.P.), but this is a good one. I had to have this conversation with my mom when I was growing up too.
One Year...
One year ago Yesterday I was in New York at a hotel in the east village. When I received a phone call from a friend. The news on the phone was horrible. One of my best friends who I grew up with had been hit by 15 year old girl driving her drunk father home. He was on his bike and she turned in front of him. We all talk about brotherhood this Guy was a brother he called my parents mom and pop. One year later it still chokes me up. Raise a glass for him. He will never be forgotten.
A couple of changes...
Since the mag was a no go, I put the bike back together. I painted the belt, whited out the pipes and put on the Works shocks. I've been way too busy to finish the bars, so that's next and we have a new air cleaner in the works that will be titties.

Magneto woes...
Okay, so after installing the magneto and having a conversation with Jesse at Morris Magneto, we've determined that there is no way to get this style of mag spinning fast enough to make spark on my motor due to the size and compression ratio. He basically said I'd need a "snap" mag (M5 with impulse coupling) to be able to get a spark at such low kick velocity...sweet. I kicked and kicked with the plugs out and a spark plug and wire on the mag, but to no avail. I couldn't get spark to save me life.
Justin and I were testing the mag for spark. You aren't supposed to do this, but whatever.

Bah Weep Granna Weep Ninny Bon...
One of the best movies ever. I gotta get this on DVD so my kids can enjoy it too. I remember seeing it in the movie theater when I was 6 years old.
Damn you, J-rod...
I know I've been slack on motorcycle posts. I'm trying to get a few things finished, have been putting in OT at work for over 6 weeks straight, am working on getting things ready to start moving in our new shop, I've been sick for a couple of days and have been trying to take care of my family...so get off my back.
If anyone is looking for good, affordable tool storage then get to Sears. They're giving deals in stores that they aren't showing online. I got this 52" heavy duty line ball bearing, grip latch 14 drawer bottom box for $538 out the door the other day. They list it "on sale" online right now for $949 plus shipping/tax/etc.
We're getting geared up to move in the shop and I needed a new box so that I could still have my home shop and still have plenty of tools at the Dungeon (BDAC clubhouse/shop)...I'll basically double up on everything, which seems asinine, but convenient. More info about that will be coming soon, as well as an Open House/Shop Party.

The signs of the times...
I just noticed that on two regular blogs that I read people were talking about helping other brosephs on bikes out with parts in their stash. I think it should just be out of common decency that this type of thing should occur, but I didn't know that it was as rampant as it is among all of you fools. Me, Seth, Justin, Eric and John are constantly swapping around parts/time/services/etc. with nothing more than the knowledge that "what goes around comes around." Luckily, collectively, we have a pretty big stash of shit (Me and Seth are horders), so when the time comes we usually have something that someone can use. I think that should be the case in AT LEAST all crews, if not stretching out also to acquaintances.
Unless it's some rare piece that you paid good money for or is already slated for a build, toss it to a buddy if he comes asking. It'll pay you back in the long run.

Road Trip...

So I decided last night that I am gonna do a weekend trip on my bike. April 15 thru the 17 from ATL to Chattanooga to Charlotte and back home. Good roads from here to Chattanooga then take 74 east thru the mountains to Charlotte. My reasoning is that Lucero is playing the Vans warped tour all year so me being the fan that I am these shows will be better than a festvial. So if anyone wants to join hit me up.

FIRE...

Seen this tow truck engulfed in flames on my way down into the city friday night. The cab had already sunk in by the time I passed and the firetruck was still not there.
