Put in work...
Or at least act like it. Nabbed a bunch of OE parts from a local guy today. Cam, heads and 9.0:1 Wisecos on the way too.

Letting stuff fall by the wayside...
I haven't neglected this blog like this in years, but with everything else going on, it's kind of taken a back seat. Things change, people fall off the grid, people's priorities are different...it's all part of the progression of life.
I'm working diligently on this Panhead, trying to source parts and pieces that are seemingly hard to come by. In this world where so many have a vintage love affair, it's hard to get hoarders to come off of good parts even if they know that they'll never put them to use themselves. It actually saddens me that so many people would rather suit their own egos by feeling they have amassed something worth talking about instead of saying, "Hell yeah, I helped him get that bike running with stuff from my collection. I'm glad to see something that hasn't been in use in 60 years is helping motivate another two wheeled machine." I personally would rather see parts moving and old iron on the streets instead of being part of someone's art collection, but that's a matter of opinion. Motorcycles were meant to be ridden, not parted and collected. That's part of why I appreciate Wheels Through Time so much. Dale and Matt make sure that anything there has fuel and oil and will run whenever they want it to. There's something to be said about that.
I'd like to have things done on this Panhead before next spring. My Shovel is running like a top and as long as it stays that way, I can put a full effort into searching, assembling and making mine something that I can concoct in my head. It won't be period correct, it won't be the hottest chopper on the street, but it'll be mine.
In the meantime, here is something outside of the box:

Good beer post...
I love IPAs, I love Belgians...so when a brewer decides to combine the two, I have to give it a whirl. Sweet, malty notes of the Belgian with the bitter hoppyness of an IPA...it's like Heaven in your mouth. Don't drink too much though, cuz these will sneak up on you.

Dyna S for sale...
Dyna S single fire, mechanical advance, and two coils to run dual plug heads. This was on my Shovel before I popped the mag on.

My brother in law...
And I rented some scooters in St. George Island for two hours. We went for a cruise and then did some barhopping.
