I said a while back that I didn't know if I'd ever buy a new Harley again. Well, I believe the adage is "Never say never." I don't plan on buying one, but being the owner of a 30 year old, first year Wide Glide, I can appreciate the direction they've gone with this new model. I still hate the EFI and the 100 lbs. of wiring/excess shit, but that can be remedied.

Being an aircraft mechanic I mess with carbs, mechanical fuel controls and FADEC (Full Authority Digital Fuel Control) FI for turbine engines and I dig it. More economy and power instead of an inefficent bernoulli principal operated venturi that is mish mash at best at completely atomizing the fuel.
If I could afford it I would fuel inject a pan, knuck or shovel too. The horror, the horror!
Yeah, I tuned FI cars for several years and if you're looking for optimum performance throughout the powerband and ease of use as far as incremental fuel/ignition tuning, then it's the way to go.
Having a variable map based on MAP/MAF/O2 readings is great, but when it comes to bikes I tend to like simple.

All in a days work for an ex Cavalry aviation soldier with additional duties of Communications and Nuclear,biological and Chemical warfare.
