Jeremy had family in town from TX so we went to the Clermont and met them.

Kaw...
Another night in the garage before we head out to Mikie Webb's Benefit, he lost his brakes on his Iron Head and ran through an intersection and got popped in the side. He is a tough SOB broke his legs and his arm Gotta give love where love is due. Gonna put some new black on this one for one of the import shops around here, it's a clean lil 500.

80ci jugs with built in drains...
These plugs seem to be there for an external oil drain. The exit inside the cylinder is at the same height as the internal drain. I've never seen these, but that's cooler than the other side of the pillow. I was planning on tapping them anyway, but no need for aftermarket when you have stock goodness.
My two favorite presents...
I'm a simple dude. I don't really care much for people buying me things because I can't explain that I would rather have the money spent on an S&S oil pump for post-81 motors (you gotta drill that extra hole) than a gang of shirts from (your favorite store here).
With that being said, my in-laws and my wife did good at giving me things that actually made me smile this year. Of course both were hints that I dropped, but isn't that kinda the point of a surprise.
1) An Anza knife made just for me.
2) A UGA jersey with my bulldog's(that I lost in September) name and how old he was on the back.

The most important thing in the world...
I hope you all got to spend plenty of time with family this holiday season. It's way more important than motorcycles.

Day of Birth Bitches
Today is the 29th anniversary of my birth. My wife took me to Cheeky, a restaurant in Suwanee that has the tap right at your table. They used to have 3 with Dos Equis & 2 with Blue Moon, but now it's all the most interesting man in the world at all tables. And since I was recently voted the second most interesting man in the world I'm on board with this. Two have amber & three with lager no pics because I figure you can use your imagination.
Xian Leather Helmet...
I did this helmet for Christian (Xian Leather). He does all of my leather work (belt, wallet, motorcycle seats, patches for the BDAC, rocking chairs for me daughter and dad, etc.) and needed a nice helmet. He said he'd been making things by hand for people for years, but nobody had ever handmade him anything.
Hi-diddly-ho neighbor!!!

Good beer post...
It's been a while since I made a beer post. I've been in and out of town and wrapped up in too many projects to post anything worth a shit on here in a while. I promise to get the ball rolling again.
What can I say? Terrapin came out with a beer repping the A-Town to the fullest. A lot of people heard of Outkast when Andre 3000 hit the top of the charts with that "Hey Ya" song. Okay, good on him for stepping outside the box and being himself, but that's not who Outkast is to those of us who have been fans since 1994 or so (and even those that came later and remember the real thing). Outkast had a song song called So Fresh, So Clean. The hook went, "Ain't nobody dope as me, I'm just so fresh, so clean...SO FRESH AND SO CLEAN, CLEAN." Well, there you have the inspiration for the name...
The beer itself is hoppy without being overpowering and has no crazy fruit or sweet hints to it. It is a hoppy beer for people that like that green, fresh taste of hops. Hence the name. I enjoyed the shit out of it.
Next up is Abita's Andygator. Abita is brewed in Louisiana and they have several beers that are well-known here in the south. This one doesn't disappoint and is a sweet, smooth bock. It lacks the blah taste of pungent malt extracts that a bad bock will leave you with and just has a strong, sweet flavor. I enjoyed the shit out of this one too.
This pic is for Nick of the Haints. The Circle of Life.

Cheap parts haul...
My Pop calls me yesterday and asks me about some wheels that he's stumbled across at a flea market. I'm convinced that it's a dual flange Shovel 16" rear and a later model narrow glide single flange 19" (which they were). He tells me he's got the dude at $30...well being the horder I am I'm thinking, "Hells yes. Ask if he has anything else." He calls me back a few minutes later and says he got a bucket of shit for $15 more and there might not be anything in it, but he'll take a couple of pics to send to me when he gets home. Well, there is a right side FX mid control, a set of FLH trees, a kicker arm, some fender trim, a kickstand with mount and regulator bracket, sissy bar and other odds and ends. That with the two wheels was $45...not a bad haul, Pop.

There's No Place Like Here: Liberty Tool from Etsy on Vimeo.
Seen this and it is awesome. I think shop should still be in schools, and every kid should know the difference between a wrench and a ratchet.
1980 FXWG...
This is how the blue bike started and is titled. It still had plenty of the original cues when I got it, but obviously those went south when I decided to rebuild it. It's cool to see the original brochure. I would love to have a copy of this.

530...
So I got a shit load of work going on but I think I am gonna find a window in my weekend to switch over the Dyna this weekend. Been wanting to do this for a while. Just makes sense when you make big horsepower you need good final drive parts. I am lowering the gearing a bit for that whole light to light thing. I don't think I will ever grow out of going fast.
Dan "Bacon" Carr tonight on the internet...
Every week Timebomb joins Jeremy from Muttin Cycles for an internet radio show called Chophouse on Garage 71 radio (www.garage71.com). They have weekly conversations with people of interest in the motorcycle industry. Last week they talked to Roadside Marty, but this week they'll be breaking down last week's Bike Build-Off with Bacon. Don't forget to tune in from 6-8pm EST to listen to catch Dan's perspective on the events.
Oh yeah, and that's a Drake water cooled Knuckle that Bacon and Jesse put together a while back. Thar motor is too badass for words.

Great Biker Bake-Off...
Okay, so it's not 100% my style, and I couldn't give less of a shit about what he did to "America's Sweetheart" or that shim, but Jesse is a talented dude. Even though he followed a similar WCC protocol with this build, it still has some classic cues that make it a WAY better choice than OCC's Terminator Salvation tank and the PJD's HUMONGOUS (seriously, look how small that Indian Power Plus is in that frame for perspective)airplane theme bike. The handmade springer is drool-worthy and if I knew he wouldn't charge $20K a pop for one, I'd gladly take one of those fuckers.
Am I gay for watching that show? No...I'm gay for all of the hand shandys I've taken from Waylon.
I don't think they could've portrayed Bacon as more of a hapless idiot.
And I haven't watched an episode of American Chopper in 8 or so years...is Junior's shop sponsored by a chocolate and butter covered donut company? Is there going to be an American Chopper/Biggest Loser crossover?
