Not the seat I'm running and some kinks to work out, but she came to life on the first kick.

The Roadster...
It's not enough that my Harley and Triumph are tore down. I went and got the newest edition to the garage today. It's a 28 roadster, or the start of a roadster. This is gonna take a lot of time and a lot of money. But this has always been a dream of mine to own a 28 to 32 roadster since I was a kid going to shows with my Dad. Super excited to build this car. If anyone has any parts they are willing to part I am in the market now. Cheers!

The Carnivore Challenge...
Since watching the episode of Man V. Food where Adam Richman attempted the Carnivore Challenge at Big Pie in The Sky pizza outside of Atlanta, I've been aching to attempt it myself. Since you're allowed a teammate though and I couldn't find anyone to dive in with me, I was left in wait...until yesterday. I got a commitment from one of my wife's coworkers who said he'd put his best foot forward in our quest to be the third team ever to complete the challenge.
11 lbs. of pizza in a 30 inch pie. About 8 lbs. of that is meat toppings. I'm a little scared, but I think I can at least put a HUGE dent in it if not take it down.

Timebomb Tuesday...
This dude puts on one of the best shows ever. If you get the chance to see him do it, or have seen him already then you know. You might get a punk show, a metal show or a real deal good ole counrtry show and I don't mean pop country like you hear on the radio. Enjoy. Cheers!
Heritage...
Popcorn Sutton is from North Carolina around Maggie Valley. He has made more shine than we could ever imagine. It might sound crazy but I admire folks like Popcorn. Makes me think of where I come from. My Grandfather was caught making moonshine in the 60's, at the time he had almost 170 acres in what is now urban Atlanta. In order to stay out of Jail he had to give up all his property. With Eleven kids and a wife who had just had a stroke he had no choice. When I seen this I wondered if my grandfather would have been this intriguing. Popcorn was recently sentenced to 18 months for making Liquor. He killed himself instead of dying in a cell. RIP Popcorn.

High Test ONLY...
I started messing with my idea of doing a little paint work on the gas caps. The ONLY turned out pretty cool, but the High Test isn't to my liking. It's fairly small and hard to do, but it looked a lot better on the blue one that I tested on. I think because that one doesn't have the breather right in the middle of the concave work space. Maybe I'll wipe it and start over...maybe I'll get rid of the idea altogether.

Rust...
So my Old Man went on vacation and left me his truck to fix a few things. It's a 2001 Ford Lightning, he bought out of Michigan. The roof was starting to bubble, so I grabbed a putty knife and dugout some of the seam sealer. This is what I found underneath. These are the roof rails your looking at. I have never seen this much rust in a somewhat new vehicle. A little POR-15 and this shit is history. Don't move to Michigan. Cheers.
BDAC keychains...
So there is this guy that comes in to this bar that we go to in Buford. He's a quirky old dude whose apparently done a few drugs in his life. He goes from bar to bar with a batch of coathangers, has a glass of red wine and for a "donation" will make you a key chain or desk art. The dude is amazing and I have no idea how he gets it so straight and perfect, with needle nose pliers and some cabernet, he makes you whatever you want. I got him to make me a BDAC logo keychain this weekend and talked about making a few more. If you're interested, let me know.

Korn III...
It came out last week and while most people claim that they can't stand Korn now, sorta like Limp Bizkit, I've always been a fan no matter what. Korn was my first metal show in October '95 when they were on their first album tour. That self-titled debut was something that was totally new to the metal world and helped respawn metal's mainstream appeal (at a time when Metallica had decided that guitar solos and long hair both had to go).
On Korn III they really went back to their roots. Even though 2 of the original band members are no longer with them, the root appeal of the original sound is back. No more multi-track sampling, atmospheric keyboard fills or Pro-Tools fueled overproduction. They recorded live in a small room and hired Ross Robinson to once again produce all of it and I personally like the end result.
Will it be as popular as Follow The Leader? No, but that was a different era in music and media as a whole. Is it a better album though? Yes, to people who actually liked Korn when they first hit the scene.

Charging System...
So Jarrod, Justin and I got the motor off last night. Noticed that the compensator Nut was lose. so when we got the primary off we noticed my noise was the rotor on the stator. That also explains the dog shit smell, from the burnt magnets on the rotor. Bottom end feels smooth as glass with the rotor off. Sure does take a load off of my mind. I am still gonna do a 95 kit and Gear driven cams more than likely the s&s 585, 10.5 keith black pistons and have the heads worked and flowed. Hopefully make good power out of it when all is said and done. Bike doesn't weigh shit so should be a fun lane splitter when i get done. Cheers

Pisgah Vortex I...
In my efforts to keep people informed of good beer (and in hopes to change the beer that people drink in this culture), I picked up a bottle of Pisgah Brewing's Vortex I Triple Pale Ale.
Pisgah Brewing is located in Black Mountain, NC, near Asheville. They're a small local brewery and use organic products in their processes. They offer a wide variety of micro brews from Pale Ales to their very own Nitro Stout (think real Guinness...a stout brewed with Nitrogen, which gives it that cascade effect when poured into a glass).
The Vortex I is a good Pale Ale and is fairly hoppy. It's not overbearing with citrus like a lot of Pale Ales tend to be and it has a good after taste. Much like the Imperial Hatter, I expected a lot bolder beer (to the point of being a bit leary), but what came out of the bottle was a lot better and smoother than I imagined. It went great with venison burgers on the 4th and I'll definitely try more of their beers next time I'm in Boone.

More Good Beer...
The guys at Terrapin Brewing in Athens, GA never fail to please. Terrapin Rye Ale is my go to beer when most people are drinking Bud Light, PBR and the like and the timing on this brew couldn't have been better.
As I posted, two weekends ago I was in Helen, GA, an Alpine community located in the middle of the North Georgia mountains. They basically took a town in the middle of nowhere, on a river, and made it into a German village. Bratwurt, knockwurst, spaetzle, heffeweisen and Oktoberfest all available 45 minutes from home. We spent the weekend flogging our livers with German beer and clogging our guts with German food.
The next weekend I find this...Terrapin's 11th Side Project beer known as Boom Shakalager, a Bavarian Style Lager that rings true to it's name. Smooth and crisp with the signature Terrapin notes, but reminiscent of a good beer straight from Munich. I wish I would've had a stock pile of these while we were in Helen because I would've shared with the tatted-up German owner of Old Heidelberg who was so nice to us with the meters (I said meter, not yard) of ale over the weekend.
If you can find Terrapin brews, give them a shot. They're made locally here and I have yet to be disappointed by anything they come up with.

RIP Fred Bowens...
What does BDAC mean?
Wanna be the coolest kid on the block? Wanna show support for some dumbass Georgia boys who enjoy the simpler things in life? Want girls to think you have a huge...you get it.
These are being printed as we speak and will be available by this weekend for the fair price of $15 shipped via Paypal. Click the t-shirt button on the right to get to the store.
Oh, and that's not what BDAC means...it worked though.

A better shot...
I'm trying to decide on which route to go on this one. I would like to get as square as possible and have an RPM screamer without being too big. It's sitting with 3 31/32" wheels right now, so 3 5/8" bore would get it closer and would sit at a healthy 82 ci. Piston speeds would be low and the reliability would be great, but no one stocks pistons to accomodate for the additional height needed to get the CR up with big bore pistons on 74" wheels. I would have to have custom pistons made or cut down the jugs about 1/4" (not really an option). I've already split the rocker boxes, plan on internal oil feed, external oil drain, roller rockers, dual plugs, forged rods and pistons, etc...I'll figure it out.
Just finish already...
I got the back wheel back on (after the striping and balancing), got the chain all hemmed up, got the clutch bracket finished, the front calipers installed, the fender brace installed (I pinstriped all of that red and white too), got a little more wiring done, put the caps on the shocks and got everything torqued down. Checklist is: Finish wiring, plumb oil lines, adjust clutch, bleed brakes, get seat from Christian, put on other tank...ride like hell.
Check the wheel in the second pic though and you can see the red stripe.

Imperial Hatter IPA...
A high gravity Imperial IPA from New Holland Brewing in Holland, MI. 9.4% abv and smooth hoppiness with a bit of citrus. A little flatter than you'd expect from a high gravity Imperial IPA, but still good flavor.
